Associate, Austin, TX
$150K base + $50K-$100K bonus, generous health, retirement and relocation benefits

Entry-level role. Exceptional performance leads to rapidly increasing bonuses and equity ownership.

You'll assist with operations, trading, research, and marketing—whatever the team needs. You'll also have freedom to pursue projects that improve the company. Over time, you'll specialize in your strengths.

We want exceptional ability, energy, and integrity. Our team is small and talent-dense; we intend to keep it that way.

STEM background and programming ability are strong pluses.

Note that this is not a hedge fund analyst role. Militia has no analysts. You can run your own personal account. If you can generate a 2+ Sharpe ratio with large sample size, you may be promoted to a portfolio manager.

Legal Counsel, Austin, TX
$250K base + $100K-$200K bonus, generous health, retirement and relocation benefits

Experience level is flexible—we care more about how you think than years of practice. Exceptional performance leads to rapidly increasing bonuses and equity ownership.

You'll handle all legal matters, including compliance. We want someone who reasons from first principles—not someone who copies "best practices" that can't be traced to actual law. You should have excellent business and legal judgment and be a fiduciary in the moral sense: maximizing investors' risk-adjusted returns is our north star.

You’ll also be critical in expanding our business operations and the role may evolve into primarily business/strategy.
